As always, SupplySide West delivered. There were so many sights to see, sounds to hear, and tastes to be had. Our industry is rapidly growing, with new products and brands hitting the market all the time, it was exciting to see what new innovations are being developed and learn more about where our industry is headed.
Stratum Nutrition® had an exciting time celebrating our 20th Anniversary with a flash mob! Our marketing team wanted to do something different to stand out and celebrate 20 years, so our Marketing Manager, David Hoover, came up with the fun idea of a flash mob. While everyone was waiting to enter the showroom floor on the first day, “Let’s Get It Started” by the Black-Eyed Peas began to play as a few people stepped up and started dancing. As the song went on, more and more dancers gradually joined the group until they were all together, busting moves. At the height of the song, they all took their jackets off to reveal t-shirts with our 20th Anniversary logo on them. When people saw our name, they cheered. To be in the room while it happened was thrilling. The dancers did a fantastic job, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! We want to thank everyone again who came to celebrate with us, it was something to be remembered.
Our friend and ingredient partner Natures Crops International’s Ahiflower® + DHA blend was a finalist in the SupplySide West Ingredient Idol. There were three categories, each with three finalists. Each finalist gave a three-minute pitch as to why their ingredient deserved to win, followed by questions from three judges. The Ahiflower® + DHA blend was in the microbiome category and Greg Cumberford, VP of Science & Regulatory for NCI, gave a compelling presentation on the benefits the Ahiflower® + DHA blend can have on the microbiome. While they didn’t win overall, they walked away with the People’s Choice Award!
The Stratum Nutrition® booth was stocked with 20th Anniversary cookies and tasty samples for attendees and potential customers to try. We had on hand Ahiflower® + DHA gummies that were lemon and watermelon flavored which were also featured at the Tasting Bar, a prebiotic-postbiotic gummy made by KorNutra using Bimuno® and LBiome™ with a tasty berry flavor, and Clasado & Probi’s synbiotic sachets.
Overall, our team had a great show and a good time catching up with old industry friends and colleagues as well as developing new connections. We look forward to SupplySide West every year and are grateful to have had another opportunity to exhibit and get the word out about our robust, science-backed ingredient portfolio and what we can do to help our customers and colleagues.
